I have a 2011 Jetta SE that was running perfectly fine until a couple days ago when out of no where I turned the car on and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree and beeped. I put the car in reverse to back out of the parking ...Sport mode will usually just change the response of the transmission. Normal mode will shift to maintain a smooth ride and manage fuel economy. Sport mode will shift at a higher rpm to give you better acceleration. The point is to give you better response times and better acceleration to either pass someone, or just for the fun of it.
