He said the fuse failed whenever they replaced it & they replaced it twice. I've looked at several diagrams & checked the 120 amp Battery fuse, but it's fine.This model has VCM-2 and thus has the front spool valve. You need to make sure that valve is not leaking (it's a common leak spot), as if it is, that will cause premature alternator failure and such failure is also usually not covered by warranty. Jul 10, 2013 · Check these pictures from the service manual. The manual indicates a 19mm hex head on the tensioner which is reached from the bottom after moving bottom splash shield out of the way. Put a long 19mm or 3/4" box or open end wrench on the hex head on the tensioner and move wrench handle toward front bumper. Turning on the lights dropped it to 11.6 volts – apparently the alternator is still not charging at all. Starting it a second time the UG voltage was 11.77 with the engine running and the lights off, so still no charging. Looks like I have to remove the alternator.
