Grease speedometer cable
Jul 31, 2009 · I ordered a brand new ACDelco OEM Speedometer cable for my '87 Cutlass Ciera. Do I need to lube it up before installing it? I would think that a brand spanking new cable need NOT be lubed by me, that they do it at the factory.The liquid carried the powder through the cable jacket (cable removed) then evaporated leaving the graphite as the dry lubricant. This was preferred over any oil or grease based product because it operated at any temperature without having viscosity issues. Logged. '98 MG V11 EV. '96 URAL SPORTSMAN.
