I would suggest putting in the oil return into the rear cylinder like a lot of people have. But you might be able to get away with just plugging the hole in the airbox that the crank vent goes to.. And extending the vent line. As far as replacement strut prices go, the best bet is to shop around and look for a promotion from one of the aftermarket suppliers.Perhaps a wireing diagram would help you out. Gotta repair manual. Perhaps something connected to the ign. is adding to the load and blowing the fuse. If you do clean and inspect elec. connections I suggest a bit of dielectric grease on the connections.
