You will NOT be able to drain water out at all if there is a blockage in the drain hose from tub to pump - or in the pump. OR - if the drain pump failed. But you can try this - UNPLUG washer from outlet for 1 minute - plug back in and then put the washer into a DRAIN/SPIN cycle and see if it will drain. .
