In 2e, flanking is a -2 circumstance penalty to the enemy's AC. The reason this is important is because whatever circumstance bonuses the flankers can get will stack against the enemy's now-lowered AC.My knowledge of 1e says no, but I've learned that 2e is very much not 1e, and similar terms don't carry over.
