8g to 6g ear stretch - STOP WITH THE TAPERS. Get rid of them, chuck em out. Stretching should never hurt. Ever. Single flare glass or titanium plugs are your best bet. You are jumping larger sizes going from 8G to 6G, you are best to get a 7G. From about 8G, half sizes are your friend. Edit: You are also stretching too fast, slow down.

 
My ears are at a 6g and seem to be naturally stretching themselves with glass plugs in, so it works fine at smaller sizes. Also glass plugs feel really nice in your ears too.
